Our first stop on Route 66 was this iconic ice cream shop…..no surprises there! Started today and amazingly historic Route 66 exactly parallels the RR tracks…just like the books said it would. In fact last night our little RV park had a RR track behind us so we could enjoy the true 66 ambiance all night long! Actually peaceful. My sister Gwen asked if our parents used this road for their honeymoon trip Jan 7, 1950….very well could be. I like to believe this classic Motel in Braidwood may have been one of their stops!
